Benefits of UNION Membership
UNION is an organisation having approximately 600 members.
All members are practitioners in Intellectual Property based in Europe.
Through its various Working Commissions UNION keeps abreast of changes of law affecting IP Practitioners in Europe and is able to express the views of UNION to relevant governmental bodies when they are framing changes in law or considering introducing new laws.
The Working Commissions produce summary reports twice a year and these reports are available on this website (members only section).
Members who wish to take an active role may do so through dedicated Noticeboards on this website (members only section). For this purpose the Working Commissions each have their own Noticeboard through which members can express their views on specific topics for consideration by the relevant committee and by the membership as a whole.
A general Noticeboard is also provided to enable members to conveniently communicate with one another in order to share experiences and seek assistance on general matters.
Every three years UNION hosts a General Assembly and Congress at which speakers well known in the Intellectual Property field are invited to give papers and/or participate in seminars. This is not only a networking opportunity for members but is also an excellent opportunity for members to be brought up to date with relevant professional matters.
UNION also hosts, from time to time, Roundtable discussions at which specific topics are debated. Normally these Roundtable discussions are open to members free of charge.
Members receive Bulletins reporting on the Congresses and Roundtable discussions and these Bulletins include copies of the papers which have been presented. The most recent Bulletins are available for download from the website (members only section).
